East Sweden Capital will be led by Björn Persson as Investment Manager. He has extensive experience of investing in startups, most recently from LRF Ventures and has previously held key roles at Spiltan Invest and Almi Invest.
– “We want to create a sustainable model where startups in Östergötland have better conditions to grow and become ready for larger investments. At the same time, it will be easier for business angels to find companies that match their investment profile,” says Björn Persson.
This long-term initiative will not only increase the flow of capital to promising companies, but also provide an opportunity for business angels to invest in a structured environment. The ambition is to attract more investors to the region and broaden the network of angel investors, including more female investors.
– Early-stage capital is crucial for entrepreneurs to realize their ideas and build new companies based on innovative technologies. Success requires a long-term strategy,” says Johan Lilliecreutz, CEO of LiU Holding.
The initiative has been developed in collaboration with the existing investment networks Norcopius and Linköpings Affärsänglar.
