The LEAD company Symbios AI and LEAD alum Celluminova have secured investments from the regional venture capital fund East Sweden Capital.

East Sweden Capital, established to improve access to capital for innovative early-stage companies, continues to invest in companies with the potential to create the solutions of the future.

“We’re seeing a very strong influx of innovative companies in Östergötland right now,” says Björn Persson, Investment Manager at East Sweden Capital.

East Sweden Capital will be Symbios AI ’s first external investor.

The company is developing an AI platform for the construction and civil engineering industry that helps companies analyze documents, automate workflows, and reduce the administrative burden in the bidding process. Following a pilot phase with select customers, the solution is now being used by paying companies, and a broader market launch is planned for the fall.

East Sweden Capital has also invested in Celluminova, a LEAD alumnus and a spin-off from Linköping University.

The company is developing an innovative treatment targeting cancer stem cells, with an initial focus on glioblastoma—one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. Celluminova recently closed a funding round totaling SEK 20 million, with participants including East Sweden Capital and Almi Invest.

The capital will be used to move the company forward into its next key phase of development.
