This year’s SKAPA Award winners in Östergötland have now been announced. This year, the awards go to two LEAD companies: Sonicflora and Symbios AI.
The SKAPA Award is Sweden’s largest innovation award and aims to support inventors in developing new ideas. The regional winners receive 10,000 kronor each and advance to the national finals, where the top prize is 500,000 kronor.
“It’s truly wonderful that two LEAD companies are receiving this award! Both are very promising companies, and we’re proud to support them on their continued growth journey,” says Catharina Sandberg, CEO of LEAD.
Sonicflora – Winner of the SKAPA Award
Sonicflora detects stress in plants long before it becomes visible. By combining research, AI, and proprietary technology, the company is creating new opportunities for more precise, data-driven, and sustainable cultivation.
The company was founded by Oscar Davidsson, Henrik Niss-Masharga, and Robin Jansson, who met during LEAD’s Bootup program in 2024.
“It feels incredibly exciting and honoring! We’ve worked very hard over the past few years on an idea that probably sounded pretty crazy to a lot of people at first. Receiving the SKAPA Award feels like a wonderful recognition of both the technology and the work the entire team has put in,” says CEO Robin Jansson.
Symbios AI – Winner of SKAPA Talang
Symbios AI was founded in the fall of 2024 by Axel Holst, Axel Gustavsson, Felix Blomé, and Manfred Clase. The founding team combines practical experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors with cutting-edge expertise in AI and product development.
“It feels incredibly great to receive this award. Building a company from the ground up is far from easy and requires many hours, a lot of energy, and hard work. That’s why it means so much to occasionally get some recognition and attention for the effort you put in,” says Axel Holst.
The regional winners will advance to the national finals in Stockholm on November 12.
