East Sweden Capital and Almi Invest are each investing 2.5 million kronor in the Linköping-based company Synclair Vision, which develops intelligent camera systems and autonomous technology for the defense industry. The company now plans to expand its presence in both Sweden and Ukraine.

The LEAD-backed company Synclair Vision is raising a total of 5 million Swedish kronor in its first round of external funding. The capital will primarily be used for industrialization, production, and the continued development of the company’s autonomous technology. The company also aims to expand its presence in Sweden and Ukraine.

“We’ve spent several years developing the technology, and now our customer projects are starting to turn into real business. The next challenge is to be able to deliver quickly and in large volumes, especially to Ukraine,” says Carl Wikström, CEO and co-founder of Synclair Vision.

Synclair Vision was founded in 2021 by students at Linköping University and develops intelligent camera systems that use AI to analyze image data directly on board drones and other platforms. After several years of technological development, the company is now entering its next phase, with a focus on scaling up production and meeting growing demand from the defense industry.

“In the defense industry, procurement processes can take a long time, while needs in the field can change in a matter of weeks. We want to build a company that can handle both of these realities,” says Carl Wikström.

“I’ve been following Synclair Vision for just over a year and am impressed by how the team navigates a complex industry. “The company is a great fit for East Sweden Capital’s portfolio, and we’re pleased to be able to contribute to the next phase of the company’s development,” says Björn Persson, Managing Partner at East Sweden Capital.

Synclair Vision is a LEAD company and is headquartered in Linköping.
